Two-Dive Boat Trip with Wreck in Hurghada

Reef diving and wreck diving ask different things of you. A reef rewards patience and close looking; a wreck rewards orientation and a sense of scale. This trip gives you one of each in a single day, with a licensed PADI instructor leading both.

Wrecks are the reason many divers come to this coast specifically. The Red Sea has been a shipping route for as long as there has been shipping, and what sank here did not rot away - it sits in warm, clear water, colonized by coral and populated by fish that treat a steel hull as a reef with better hiding places.

How the day runs

Eight hours on the boat, with air-conditioned transport to and from the marina. Equipment is provided and the instructor briefs each dive properly before you get in - entry point, route, depth, turnaround pressure, exit. Between dives there is a full surface interval with lunch, soft drinks, coffee and tea served on board.

The group is capped at 25 and the two sites are chosen on the day for conditions.

Requirements

• This trip is for certified divers. Bring your card and logbook.
• If it has been more than a year since your last dive, tell us - a refresher makes the first dive far more enjoyable.
• Wreck penetration requires specific training. Your instructor will dive the outside of the structure, which is where most of the marine life is anyway.
• Declare medical conditions and medication in advance.

Good to know before you book

• National Park admission is $3 per person, collected separately.
• Transfers from Makadi and Sahl Hasheesh carry a $5 per person supplement; from Safaga and El Gouna it is $10.
• A photo session is available on request at extra cost.
• Do not fly within 24 hours of diving.
• Bring a torch if you have one - wrecks hold shadow even in bright water, and the colour comes back the moment you light it.

$75 per person (regular price $86), including eight hours on the boat, two guided dives, licensed PADI instructor, full equipment, lunch, drinks and all taxes.
