The questions we are actually asked, answered properly. If yours is not here, message us on WhatsApp — a person will answer.
Booking
How far in advance should I book?
At least one day ahead so we can confirm your pickup with the boat or driver. In high season the island days fill up sooner, so a few days is safer. The balloon over Luxor should be booked early in your stay because it is cancelled for wind and you want room to try again.
Do I pay a deposit?
No. We take no deposit and no card details to reserve a place. You pay when we collect you.
How do I pay?
Cash on the day, in most cases. Where online payment is offered it goes through Paymob, and we never see your card details.
Is the price on the site the price I pay?
Yes. What is not included is listed on every trip page — usually national park fees, island entry tickets and transfer supplements from resorts outside Hurghada.
Can I book for a group?
Yes. Tell us the numbers and ages and we will tell you which trips suit and whether a private boat works out better than seats on a shared one.
Pickup and transfers
Do you collect from my hotel?
Inside Hurghada, yes, and it is included — a private air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel reception and back. From Makadi, Sahl Hasheesh, El Ahyaa, El Gouna and Soma Bay there is a $5 per person supplement.
What time will you collect me?
It depends on the trip and where you are staying. We confirm the exact time the day before. Island trips usually leave early; desert safaris go out mid-afternoon.
What if my flight is delayed?
Send us your flight number when you book an airport transfer. We track the flight and adjust at no extra charge.
What if I am running late?
Message us straight away. Boats cannot wait, but one message usually means we can rearrange something. Silence is what turns a delay into a lost booking.
Cancelling and changing
Can I cancel?
Free of charge up to 48 hours before the trip. Less than that, tell us anyway — since most bookings are paid in cash, usually nothing is owed. Full detail is on the Cancellation & Refund Policy page.
What if you cancel?
If we cancel for weather, safety or numbers, you choose: another date during your stay, or a full refund. Your choice, not ours.
Can I change the date?
Usually yes, subject to availability. Ask as early as you can.
Families and children
Are the trips suitable for children?
Many are. Tell us their ages when you ask and we will say honestly which work and which do not. The semi-submarines and the Grand Aquarium suit small children particularly well; long desert days and deep dives do not.
Do children pay full price?
Child rates vary by trip and by the operator. Tell us the ages and we will quote exactly.
Are child seats available in the transfers?
Yes, on request. Ask when you book, not on the day.
Diving and water activities
I have never dived. Can I try?
Yes. A Discover Scuba day gives you two supervised dives with an instructor beside you, and no course or licence is needed. Expect about 15 minutes underwater per dive — that is a safety limit, not a shortcut.
I am certified. What do I need to bring?
Your certification card and logbook. If it has been more than a year since your last dive, say so and we will arrange a refresher.
Can I dive on my last day?
No. Do not fly within 24 hours of diving. Plan your diving for early in your stay.
Do I need to swim?
For most snorkeling trips, no — life jackets are included and you can float and look. The semi-submarines and the Sindbad submarine need no swimming at all.
On the day
What should I bring?
Swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and cash for entry fees. For the desert: closed shoes, long sleeves and a jacket — the temperature drops sharply after sunset.
Is lunch included?
On most full-day trips, yes. It is stated on every trip page. The short trips and some courses do not include it.
Will there be other people on the trip?
On shared trips, yes — group sizes are shown on each page, usually capped at 20 to 30. Private boats and private tours are available if you would rather not share.
What language are the guides?
English throughout. For the guided historical tours you can request another language when you book, and we will tell you honestly whether we can arrange it for your date.
Practical
Can I drink the tap water?
No. Drink bottled water and check the seal. It is cheap and everywhere.
Should I tip?
Tipping is normal in Egypt and always appreciated, never demanded. Small amounts for drivers, crews and guides.
Do I need travel insurance?
We strongly recommend it, and if you are diving, check that your policy actually covers diving — many do not.
How do I reach you during my stay?
WhatsApp at +20 102 525 7272. It is the fastest way and it gives you a written record.
