Hurghada
The Red Sea off Hurghada holds barracuda, trevally, snapper, grouper and mackerel, and the difference between catching them and staring at the water is knowing where the structure is. That is what you are paying a local guide for.
This is a working fishing trip, not a boat ride with rods on it. Your guide fishes these grounds regularly, reads the water rather than the GPS, and will move you if a spot is not producing.
Hotel pickup in a private air-conditioned vehicle, then out to the boat. The day runs around 7 hours door to door. Fishing equipment is provided and included, along with a private guide and all service charges and taxes.
Most of the fishing here is bottom fishing and trolling, depending on conditions. Your guide will rig for whatever is working and show you how to use it - beginners are genuinely welcome and there is no expectation of prior experience.
Lunch and drinks are not part of this trip. Bring a packed lunch and plenty of water. Most hotels will prepare a lunch box if you ask reception the evening before, and seven hours in the sun without water is a genuinely bad idea.
Ask your guide on the day. Many of the boats will clean your catch for you, and several hotels and restaurants in Hurghada will cook it if you bring it in - arrange that with your hotel in advance rather than turning up with a bag of fish.
$41 per person (regular price $52), including fishing equipment, private guide, hotel transfers and all taxes.
