Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 July 2026

This policy explains what personal information MC Travel Hurghada collects when you use mctravelhurghada.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it. It is written to be read rather than to protect us, so if anything here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it.

2. What we collect, and why

When you make a booking

We collect your name, email address, phone number, the hotel you are staying at, the number and ages of travellers, your travel dates, and any accessibility, dietary or medical information you choose to give us.

Why: to arrange your trip, to confirm your hotel pickup, and to run the trip safely. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.

Medical and accessibility details are special category data. We collect them only when you volunteer them, we use them only to keep you safe on the trip, we pass them only to the crew or driver who needs to know, and we delete them once the trip is complete.

When you contact us

Messages you send us by email, the contact form or WhatsApp, along with your contact details and the content of the conversation.

Why: to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or the steps taken before entering a contract.

When you create an account

Your name, email address and an encrypted version of your password. We never store passwords in a readable form and cannot see them.

When you use the site

Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the currency and language you select. This is standard web server and analytics data.

Why: to keep the site working, to prevent abuse, and to understand which pages are useful. Legal basis: legitimate interest, and consent where analytics or marketing cookies are involved.

Payments

Most of our trips are paid in cash on the day, when we collect you. In that case no payment data reaches this website at all.

Where you choose to pay online, the transaction is handled by Paymob, a licensed payment service provider. You are taken to Paymob’s secure environment to enter your card details, and they are processed under their own privacy policy and PCI DSS obligations. We never see, receive or store your card number, expiry date or security code. We are told only whether a payment succeeded, the amount, and a reference for our records.

3. Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary, and only with:

  • The people running your trip — boat crews, drivers, guides and dive instructors get your name, pickup point and the numbers travelling. Safety-relevant details are shared where they matter.
  • Third-party suppliers where a trip is operated by a partner (for example the balloon operator in Luxor, or the boat crossing to Jordan).
  • Paymob, where you choose to pay online. They receive your name, email, amount and card details directly; we do not.
  • Our website host — Hostinium Technology LLC (hostinium.com), which stores this website, its database and our email. They act as a data processor on our instructions and have no independent right to use your information.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it — for example passenger details for a border crossing to Jordan.

We do not sell your personal data, and we never have.

4. International transfers

We are based in Egypt. This website, its database and our email are hosted by Hostinium Technology LLC, and their servers are located in the United States. Our online payments are processed by Paymob.

This means that if you are in the EU or the UK, your information leaves your home jurisdiction twice when you book with us — once to Egypt, where we operate, and once to the United States, where the site is hosted. Neither Egypt nor the United States benefits from a general adequacy decision covering these transfers.

We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses in our agreements with our hosting and payment providers as the safeguard for those transfers. If you would like to see the arrangements that apply to your booking, email us and we will explain them.

If you would prefer that your information is not transferred in this way, you can book with us by phone or WhatsApp and pay in cash on arrival, which keeps your details out of the website entirely.

5. How long we keep it

  • Booking records: as long as required by Egyptian tax and accounting law, then deleted.
  • Medical and accessibility notes: deleted once your trip is complete.
  • Enquiries that do not become bookings: up to 12 months.
  • Account data: until you ask us to delete the account.
  • Server logs: a short rolling period for security purposes.

6. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete your information, where we are not legally required to keep it;
  • stop using it for marketing, at any time;
  • restrict or object to a particular use;
  • send your data to another provider.

Email info@mctravelhurghada.com and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge. If you are in the EU or UK and you are not satisfied with our answer, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

7. Cookies

We use:

  • Essential cookies — session, security, your currency and language choice. The site does not work without these.
  • Analytics cookies — to see which pages are read and where people leave. Set only with your consent.
  • Marketing cookies — where advertising or remarketing is used. Set only with your consent.

You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. Refusing the non-essential ones does not stop you booking.

8. Marketing

We only send marketing email if you have asked for it. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and we act on it immediately. We will still send you the operational messages about a booking you have made — confirmations, pickup times and changes.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 other than the traveller details a parent or guardian gives us when booking a family trip. If you believe we hold a child’s data that we should not, tell us and we will delete it.

10. Security

The site runs over HTTPS, passwords are stored hashed, and access to booking records is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfect. If a breach occurs that affects you, we will tell you and the relevant authority without undue delay.

11. Other websites

This site links to third parties — WhatsApp, social media, mapping and partner operators. Their privacy practices are their own and are not covered by this policy.

12. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
